Acne Rosacea - Definition, Cause, Risk Factors, Symptom and Prevention


Definition

Acne Rosacea is a chronic condition, namely in the form of long-term inflammation, irritation, redness, swelling, hyperplasia (thickening of the skin), and pimples that occur on the cheeks, eyelids, nose, chin, and forehead.

Cause

Not yet known the exact cause of this condition, but a change in the skin involves dilation or enlargement of tiny blood vessels under the skin surface.

Risk Factors
  • Have light-colored skin.
  • Aged between 30 and 60 years, especially if you have experienced menopause.
  • Face flushed frequently.
  • Having a family history of rosacea.


Symptom

The symptoms that arise, among others:
  • Red rash - red-stained area in the face of the affected area.
  • Tingling or stinging sensation in the affected area of the face.
  • Dilated blood vessels can be seen under the skin of the face (telangiectasis).
  • Hyperplasia of the skin of the nose.
  • Appears bumps (papules) containing pus.

Prevention

You can not prevent rosacea, but you can take steps to reduce or control symptoms for a long time.
Once you have rosacea, then you need follow-up treatment to control symptoms.
Use skin care products that are gentle to wash your face.
If possible, avoid triggers rosacea.
