Definition

Heart failure is a condition where the heart can not pump enough blood to meet the body's needs.

Causative Factor
  • Coronary Heart Disease
  • High Blood Pressure
  • Diabetes mellitus
  • Cardiomyopathy (heart muscle disease)
  • Heart valve disease
  • Cardiac arrhythmias
  • Congenital heart defects

Signs and symptoms of heart failure
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Fatigue (tiredness)
  • Swelling in the ankles, legs, stomach, and blood vessels in the neck (jugular vein)
  • Cough: pulmonary edema
  • Chest pain.
Prevention of heart failure
  • Treating the cause of heart failure such as: diabetes, hypertension, coronary heart disease and diseases related to heart and blood vessel system.
  • Adequate rest
  • Lifestyle fox with heart diet
  • Regular exercise
  • Adjust income (drinking) and expenditure (urine)
Diet for heart disease
Requirements :
  • low calorie
  • enough Protein and fat
  • enough vitamins and minerals
  • low salt when high pressure
  • easy to digest
  • small portions but often

Food restrictions for heart disease:
  • The pastries were too sweet and savory: cake, tarts etc.
  • All fatty meats.
  • Fried, thick coconut milk.
  • Vegetables that cause gas such as cabbage, mustard greens, turnip.
  • Lombok and spices that stimulate.
  • Coffee, soda and alcohol.
  • Jackfruit, durian and avocado should be limited.
